This is a transparent, high-barrier biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film, produced through an innovative CVD and surface deposition process.
This film offers excellent protection against moisture, gas and aromas.
It is available in two versions: one particularly suited to high-temperature sterilization processes, and one for dry food packaging. BOPP SiOx was developed as a high-performance alternative to aluminium foil and metallized polyester, ideal for the following applications:
Packaging of coffee or dry food in mono-material (mono PP) double or triple laminates
Pet food packaging
Autoclave-sterilizable pouches
PP SiOx
High-barrier Big Bags against oxygen and moisture
Yupro Italia has developed a line of big bags capable of guaranteeing a high barrier against moisture, oxygen, UV rays and contamination. They are suitable as a replacement for, or in addition to, traditional big bags.
These bags are designed for the transport and storage of food, chemical and pharmaceutical products stored in large volumes. They generally have a rectangular/square base of up to 1200mm x 1200mm and a height of over 2m.
Sectors of use:
Transport and storage of pharmaceutical products and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
Transport and storage of food and nutraceutical products. For example, it can be used for biological fumigation treatment (CO2 pest control) of rice, dried fruit and cereals, or to preserve the organoleptic properties of food stored in warehouses for long periods (e.g. cocoa)
Transport and storage of specialty chemicals and polymers
The bag structure is a multilayer film, with thickness varying according to the application and each customer's specific requirements.
Advantages:
Maximum barrier to oxygen and carbon dioxide, optimizing gas content for use in modified atmosphere packaging or CO2 fumigation
Maximum UV barrier and can be used with any sealing bar
High resistance to puncture and tearing, preventing damage to the packaging from dragging or contact with small sharp objects. This allows for reuse, reducing costs
Sodium Metal (Na)
Sodium metal is an element belonging to the alkali metal group, characterized by high chemical reactivity. In its pure state, it is a soft, silvery-white metal that oxidizes rapidly on contact with air.
Due to its reactive nature, especially in the presence of water or moisture, sodium metal is stored and transported under maximum safety conditions, generally submerged in mineral oil or in inert atmospheres.
Main industrial applications:
Chemical synthesis: used as a powerful reducing agent in the production of organic compounds, pharmaceuticals and fragrances
Metallurgy: used for purifying molten metals and creating special alloys
Energy industry: used in the past as a heat transfer fluid in some types of nuclear reactors and in sodium vapor lamps for street lighting
